Once a student meets the graduation criteria, they should fill the alumni cum clearance form available on the i-Pearl portal. This form includes both the institute's no-dues clearance form and the alumni association membership form for those who wish to obtain lifetime IITK alumni membership. Once the OA office receives the students’ ID cards, it will initiate the no-dues process on their behalf. The students are notified once the no dues are completed and the copy of the complete no-dues form with the student.

To get no dues from the ID cell, students must return their ID cards by posting the card to the following address:
"Office of Digital Learning, Room No. 403 (B), IME Building, IIT Kanpur, Kanpur – 208016"

OOA will notify you through email on receipt of ID card.

After clearance of the No-dues form, the student will be eligible to apply and get the provisional degree certificate. Those requesting a soft copy of the provisional degree will be charged a fee of 200/-, while a fee of 400/- is applicable for a hard copy for Indian address (sent by post to the specified address shared by you). The detailed procedure to receive the provisional degree certificate is provided in the DOAA website Here To receive their degree at the upcoming convocation, students must complete the no-dues clearance process at least one month before the convocation date.

The IITK email address will be deactivated following the no-dues clearance from the Computer Centre. Therefore, it is recommended to back up any important emails before initiating the no-dues clearance process. Once no-dues clearance is completed students will lose access to both their IITK email ID and the ipearl portal. For any future communication related to career enhancement or other matters, the OOA team will reach out using the alternative email address provided in the student’s admission form.

After completing the program and clearance of no dues, you are eligible to receive the prestigious alumni membership. The students must after fill out the alumni association membership form available on the ipearl portal. Please refer to Q1 for the details.

Once a student successfully meets all graduation requirements and on clearance of no dues they become eligible for a lifetime IIT Kanpur alumni membership. To obtain this membership, the following steps must be completed: 1. Complete the Alumni Association Membership Form: The form is available on the i-pearl portal, along with the no dues form. Please log in and fill out the required details.
2.Pay the Membership Fee: You will need to pay the applicable lifetime alumni membership fee. Ensure that the payment is made to the OOA account as specified.Typically, students receive their alumni membership card and lifetime email ID from the IITK Alumni Office within a month of submitting the form. If the no-dues process coincides with convocation, the OOA office distributes the alumni membership cards directly to the students. For those unable to attend convocation, the cards will be sent by post.Graduates who wish to apply for an IITK Alumni Membership Card later (not during the no-dues process) can directly email the Alumni Office at office@iitkalumni.org with a copy to odl_alumni@iitk.ac.in, or fill out the form at this link:Here If applying directly to the Alumni Office, it is recommended to send a screenshot of the completed form and payment details to odl_alumni@iitk.ac.in for record-keeping.Note: As of September 2024, the lifetime membership fee is Rs. 2,000, subject to revision. For alumni applying after convocation, the membership fee is Rs. 5,000. GST or other applicable taxes may apply in both cases.

Globally, Alumni Chapters organize regular gatherings and exclusive events, while IIT Kanpur hosts special events and ceremonies at various locations. The Alumni Association also conducts milestone reunions for batches/classes at the 10th, 15th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, and 50th year post graduation.
