Procedure for Companies
1. The OOA contacts different companies with relevant information.
2. The OOA appoints a representative as a point of contact (POC) for the interested companies
3. Companies need to contact the concerned POC (or mail to odl_placement@iitk.ac.in) to be updated
about the ongoing placement process.
4. Companies need to fill out a Job Announcement Form (JAF) to share the offered jobprofile details. OOA
also encourages the lateral placement process. (For companies interested in lateral placement, please
reach out to odl_placement@iitk.ac.in)
5. After verification of details by POC, job openings are made available to the students as per dates
decided by the OOA.
6. Students need to submit their resumes through OOA before the company's deadline.
7. Companies conduct the pre-placement talks (PPT) and tests/ screening process, preferably in virtual
mode, after finalizing the schedule with the OOA team.
8. Companies submit the final list of shortlisted students for the interview process to the OOA.
9. Companies need to inform the dates of the interview to the OOA over email.
10. Companies provide the list of selected and waitlisted students to the OOA after the completion of the
selection process.
11. Companies are discouraged to send offer letters directly to the selected candidates. Companies' offer
letters should come to the OOA, and the OOA sends them to the respective candidates.
12. The job offer should be consistent with the company's JAF.
13. The OOA notifies the companies regarding the acceptance of selected students.
